BIOFUEL CONFERENCE JUNE 20-23

Model T ran on Ethanol

There is a biofuels conference in Milwaukee Wisconsin June 20-23, 2016.
---
The first commercial vehicle capable of running on pure ethanol was the Ford Model T, produced from 1908 through 1927

YEP.

Model T ran on Ethanol.

In 1826 Sam Morey built an Ethanol & Turpentine powered engine that powered a boat.

By now all vehicles that use gasoline should be able to use any mixture of Ethanol and Gasoline, in my opinion. When they tell you that there has to be special mods or the ethanol will corrode engine parts. That is, the vehicle was designed with ethanol not in mind. The designers just need to know ahead of time that their vehicle will be using both ethanol and gasoline as the fuel.

We need to move away from using anything but Hydrogen and Electricity as fuel in regular city transportation type vehicles.

I feel that current technology vehicles should be moved to use at least Ethanol or Gasoline, or a mix.

It is interesting that hydrogen & electricity where the first fuels used in cars. Then taken away when big businessmen like John D. Rockefeller saw a vision of using fuels that could be controlled and limited.

He or they (big businessmen) chose oil / gasoline as the fuel. I also read that he came (or one of his cronies) came up with the fossil fuel hoax as a means to declare that oil was a limited resource that would become more scarce over time and therefore needed to be priced accordingly.

This was all a fabrication, especially since we now know that there were no dinosaurs to create the oil first and foremost, and it just does not come from dead animals in any case.

STEEL MILL GASES BECOME BIOETHANOL

STEEL MILL GASES BECOME BIOETHANOL

The world’s largest steel producer is planning to spend €87m to use a microbe originally found in a rabbit’s gut to turn a waste gas that contributes to global warming into fuel.
STEEL MILL GASES BECOME BIOETHANOL
Bioengineering company LanzaTech’s technology will be installed at ArcelorMittal’s steel mill in Ghent, Belgium, with the customised Clostridium microbe capturing carbon monoxide and converting it into ethanol.
It is anticipated that the Ghent plant will eventually produce 47,000 tonnes of ethanol a year, which can be sold as a byproduct of the steel-making process and used to run cars and aeroplanes.

Much higher energy density than current battery technology
---
Sort of new science from MIT.

Take a twisted piece of one molecule carbon.

Soak it in something like ETHANOL.

Burn it.

Creates electricity direct from thermal reaction.

Can re-ignite carbon many times.

Can load up a big bunch of strands to create "battery."

15 times the energy density of LI-ion batteries.

This effect was discovered in 2010.

We should have A BATTERY BY NOW ON THE MARKET!

DIRECT TO ETHANOL

GREENBACKS: Even in hot, sunny places like Florida, there are still seasons when production slows down due to weather.
PHOTO: ERIK KELLAR PHOTOGRAPHY
How It Works
The clear plastic bags used in the direct-to-ethanol technology look like giant hanging file folders. Each bag is 10 feet by four feet, 2 inches deep and has capacity of 50 liters. The bag is filled with saltwater, which is inoculated with algae culture. All green plants, including algae, take in water and CO2 from the atmosphere, and combine those elements as a precursor to sugar, which, with Algenol’s two-step direct-to-ethanol process, is immediately converted to ethanol. In the end, 85 percent of the carbon consumed produces ethanol and the remaining 15 percent is spent algae.

When that process is complete, a simple centrifuge is used for separation. Spent algae goes one way and liquid goes another. Next comes a two-step ethanol purification process, the first of which is patented by Algenol and the second is no different than the method used by the corn-ethanol industry, he adds. The remaining biomass, or spent algae, is turned into green crude in a six-minute process, which can potentially be sent to a refinery to produce mostly gasoline or diesel and some jet fuel. The four fuels can be produced for about $1.30 a gallon each, the company says.

We need as many ways to produce fuels as possible.

We should be very happy with each new one that happens.

Remember there are already many ways to produce Hydrogen & Ethanol.

FRUCTOSE (Corn) is NOT the BAD sugar.

SUCROSE (Cane Sugar) is the BAD sugar.

-- I learned this stuff when I was on a semi-health kick back in 1980ish.
I used to buy FRUCTOSE in little packets from the health food store.
          guess why.

Hey gang.

ETHANOL is made from the NON-GRAIN part of the corn plant that WE DON'T EAT.

ETHANOL would be in competition with CATTLE FEED.

There are over 4,000 products that have corn in them, including PAPER, BEEF, PORK, CHICKEN, and a bunch more stuff.

Human food is just one of the things corn is used for.

ETHANOL can be made from almost any plant.

There are plants that we don't eat (like grasses) that can be used to make ETHANOL too.

Brasil is BIG on ETHANOL, they use a lot of SUGAR CANE to make theirs.

Most people you read or hear talking about ETHANOL ill-effecting our HUMAN food supply, usually will be a PRO-FOSSIL FUEL/ANTI-ETHANOL guy for whatever reason.

Jay Leno was just talking down ETHANOL after years of talking it UP.

WHAT UP?

We have been breathing foul dirty air now for 100 years.

It's better to have something going on as opposed to NOTHING!

TAKING AWAY ETHANOL FUEL

Dianne Feinstien & Pat Toomey have introduced a bill to take the mandated ETHANOL out of GASOLINE.

BAD MOVE.

We should be upping the about of ETHANOL in the mix.
---
Start paying attention to the SMELL OF OUR AIR.
---
It has been demonized for messing with the CORN market.

Most any plant can be used to make ETHANOL.

If we don't want to mess with American Corn Market, we can use other plants to make it, or buy it from other countries,

Brasil, Norway use it now.

The Washington politicians are not working in our best interest on this issue.

BIG DIRTY DOLLARS ARE AT WORK HERE.
---
What I really don't like is them playing on peoples ignorance.

Ignorance does not mean you are stupid, it just means you don't know.

Even little microbes can make ETHANOL.

It would have been a good intermediate fuel until we can do H2 & EV.

ETHANOL FUEL BY COUNTRY

ALL GAS SHOULD NOW BE E85 OR BETTER

All vehicles sold in the US as gasoline powered vehicles should be able to use any mix of gasoline and ethanol.

NOW AND FOREVER.

In the article below that author talks solely about American CORN crops as the sole source for ETHANOL.

ETHANOL can be made from a wide variety of sources, including CANE SUGAR and many others.

BRASIL uses CANE SUGAR to make their ETHANOL.

AFRICAN countries use the CASSAVA (Tapioca) PLANT to make ETHANOL.

Grapes, Grains, Potatoes, Molasses, Horseradish, Sugar Beets, Fruits, Oats, etc....

Cow waste ... yep!

All kinds of dying, rotting things...

We can buy the ETHANOL on the global marketplace like we do oil.

We can buy the source materials  from the global marketplace and make SOME OF IT ourselves.

The source materials can be from a large variety of plants and algae.

The State of Wisconsin exports ETHANOL to CANADA.
---
Saying that vehicles today cannot run on ETHANOL is not correct.
---
The ETHANOL part of the mix should NOT BE TAXED or REVERSE TAXED to make it a better deal than GASOLINE.

The more the ETHANOL the cheaper the FUEL.

We should do this until H2 and pure ELECTRIC vehicles are well established.

ETHANOL PLANT

CASSAVA PLANT.

This plant is used all over the world as both food and to produce ETHANOL.

It can grow in dry environments.

The root part is used to create things like ETHANOL and TAPIOCA pudding.

For those of you worried about ETHANOL production ill-effecting the CORN growing business, fear NOT as basically any rotting plant can produce alcohol.

FUEL ETHANOL

"FUEL ETHANOL" conference is on at the INDY convention center.

FUEL ETHANOL WORKSHOP
---

ETHANOL is a fuel we can go to immediately to get away from gasoline.

Early cars ran on it.

Yes I talk about these three:

      1)  ELECTRICITY

       2) HYDROGEN

       3) ETHANOL
---

The new "average" vehicles and basically anything that uses a motor should be electric motor based, powered by stored electricity.

Then, if the unit needs to have an on-board source of electrical generation,  it should be either ETHANOL or HYDROGEN fuel based.
---
Seems to me that Indiana would be a natural for the ETHANOL migration.

The state of Indiana could start by using pure 100% ETHANOL in it's own vehicles.

And don't let "THEM" tell you vehicles cannot run on PURE ETHANOL.

It would have complete control over the supply, pumping stations, etc.

---

A look at a fuel pump that offers the consumer a choice of fuels:

Cars should be made to run on a variety of fuel mixes to make sure that a shortage of one does not cause serious availability problems.

These cars are already available.

DOE SUPPORTS HYDROGEN

Taiyo Nippon Sanso Corporation (TNSC) announced that it has developed a low-cost,compact packaged-type hydrogen station to supply 70MPa hydrogen gas to fuel cell vehicles

Energy Department Announces $2 Million to Develop Supply Chain, Manufacturing Competitiveness Analysis for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies

Please read the link below and all sub-links.

DOE spends $2M to help hydrogen happen

Hydrogen is the end game as far as using a "fuel" in a car.

It is clean in it's use in the car.

The only "GOTCHA" is the energy used and pollution created in it's making, storing and transporting.

But it is much easier to control these things at a central location/plant than making each car have to burn a dirty fuel (gasoline) cleanly.

---

Until we can go pure electricity, this is something we need to move to.

Other Links:

Don't let them tell you that hydrogen can be produced only one or two ways.

There are many ways.

If it weren't for greedy BIG BIZ, we would have never been burning oil to begin with.

Early cars used electricity and alcohol.
