The situation in the dining room at the mission is sardines in a can city.
Over 400 currently being serving in a 30x30 room in 45 minutes.
Volunteers include women with their children.
-------------
I take a folding chair around with me after check in time at 4:30pm.
There are so many people there that getting a seat is close to impossible, and then getting a folding chair and keeping it with you does not guarantee you will find a spot to put it.
I found a table that was upfront and usually without chairs, sometimes being used by the guys in wheelchairs.
--------------
I was just about to put my chair at that table when as I turned the corner to get there....
... a young boy was there with his toys all over the table.
Needless to say I took an immediate detour.
--------------
I really don't think an all male homeless mission is the place for children.
