Alex Jones (talk show host) claims that he had an acquaintance that says they had active telemetry and other data coming from the Apollo spacecraft.

Well, as it turns out,  NASA sent up a Tetra satellite just before the Apollo missions which could accurately send back information and telemetry identical as if an Apollo craft were near the Moon

I have read / heard various comments about the nature of the Van Allen Radiation Belts and what would be needed to protect someone from them.

Wikipedia says that Apollo astronauts were protected enough considering the short time they were exposed to them.

Van Allen belts were only discovered in 1958.

Did they think they knew enough about them to just throw something out there willy-nilly?

They are still learning about them now after sending two probes dedicated to their study just recently.

The BBC documentary "Moon landing hoax" says:

1/8" Aluminum shielding is not good enough to stop Van Allen Radiation Belt stuff.

Not to mention all the other radiation coming from the whole universe.

It seems that the Van Allen belts will be a big challenge for the new craft going to the Moon or Mars.

Well, if it is a big challenge now, how did we slam dunk it in 1969?

It seems to me the logical choice would have been to just fake it.

Now, how did they get the Russians to go along with the hoax?
