SUSPENDED ANIMATION NOW
Doctors at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh can now put patients in suspended animation to prevent them from dying from traumatic injuries that cannot be immediately dealt with.
Blood is removed and replaced with cold saline(salty water). They have no blood, no brain activity, and they’re not breathing. Later they are warmed back up and the blood replaced.
